Day by day, saved since Oct 29
We started saving each state's count on Oct 29, so the line is short and grows with every report. Each date is the one the office gives for its count, so a first report can be dated a day before we saved it. Nothing earlier is filled in.

Pace compared with 2024
We have not built a same-day 2024 comparison for Illinois yet.
Statewide figures only
Illinois reports by election jurisdiction (county clerks plus city election boards such as Chicago), not by county, so there is no county table.

Illinois State Board of Elections, pre-election ballot counts (2026 General Election)
Statewide totals as published by the Board; the sum of all jurisdiction rows was checked against the stated statewide row. Updated Oct 30, 11:47 AM ET; retrieved Oct 30, 3:40 PM ET.
- Counts are unofficial, reported by local election authorities through the statewide voter registration database, and change daily. The as-of time is the page's last-updated stamp (Central time).
- Illinois reports by election jurisdiction, not only by county: 102 jurisdictions are county clerks (Cook is suburban Cook only) and 6 are city election boards (Bloomington, Chicago, Danville, East St Louis, Galesburg, Rockford). City boards overlap counties, so no county-level figures are shown.
- The Board's file has columns named By-Mail, By-Mail Returned, Early and Grace, and does not define them on the page. mail_requested is the By-Mail column (vote-by-mail ballots, understood as issued because the returned column is lower), mail_returned is By-Mail Returned, early_in_person is Early. The Grace column (7,998 ballots) is not included in these figures.
- Illinois has no party registration, so no party breakdown is available.
- These jurisdictions report zero returned mail ballots despite issued ballots, as published: Ford County.
