Day by day, saved since Oct 29
We started saving each state's count on Oct 29, so the line is short and grows with every report. Each date is the one the office gives for its count, so a first report can be dated a day before we saved it. Nothing earlier is filled in.

How this comparison is built
- Same point means the same number of days before Election Day: 5 days out in both years.
- 2024 source: Colorado Secretary of State, daily ballot returns (2024 General Election).
- Colorado releases did not cover every calendar day; weekends and a few other dates have no release and are omitted, not filled in.
- Counts are as of 11:59 PM on the date shown (Mountain time), the same basis as the 2026 files.
- The 2024 release says ballots 'returned to County Clerks'; the 2026 release says 'returned and processed by County Clerks'. The Secretary's workbook layout and totals are the same in both years, but the wording changed, so treat small gaps with care.
- Colorado mails a ballot to every active voter, so there is no mail-requested count.

Colorado Secretary of State, daily ballot returns
Ballots returned to county clerks (mail plus in person), from the Secretary of State's daily county workbook. Each release covers data through 11:59 PM the previous day (Mountain time). Updated Oct 30, 1:59 AM ET; retrieved Oct 30, 3:40 PM ET.
- Colorado mails a ballot to every active voter, so there is no mail-requested count. The state does not publish an accepted count; returned ballots are those received by county clerks.
- Each release covers data through 11:59 PM the day before the release date, so the as-of time is the previous night.
- Party figures are the registered party of the voters whose ballots have been returned, not how anyone voted. Colorado lists unaffiliated (U), Libertarian (LIB) and Green (GRN) separately; O combines the American Constitution, Approval Voting, Colorado Center, Forward, No Labels and Unity parties.
- The 2022 comparison uses the Secretary of State's own file for the same number of days before Election Day (7).
