South Dakota Secretary of State, 2026 General Election absentee ballot data
Latest row of the Secretary of State's weekly absentee table. Ballots received include in-person (walk-in) absentee ballots. Updated Oct 23; retrieved Oct 30, 3:41 PM ET.
- South Dakota updates this table weekly, not daily. These figures are as of 10/30/2026 and can be up to six days behind. The time of day is not published.
- total_voted_early is absentee ballots received, which the state says includes walk-in ballots cast at county auditors' offices. The state does not split mail from in-person received ballots.
- Ballots sent were 82,274, which includes walk-in and military ballots, so it is not shown as mail ballots requested. Of those, 37,323 are walk-in voters and 1,824 are military and overseas (UOCAVA).
- Party figures are absentee ballots received, by party of registration (Independent, no party affiliation and other shown separately); they are not how anyone voted.
- Only statewide figures are published; there is no county breakdown.
