Not an official source

Election Wrld compiles public records from election offices and other publishers and links each number to its source. It isn’t a government site, and it doesn’t count votes or call races. For anything that matters, like where to vote, what’s on your ballot or who won, check your state or county election office. We fix errors when they’re reported to corrections@electionwrld.com.

Provided as is

The site, its data and its API are provided as is, without any warranty that they are complete, current or error-free. To the extent the law allows, Election Wrld and the people who run it aren’t liable for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on its data. Where the law doesn’t allow that limit, our liability is limited to the smallest amount it does allow.

Using the data and the API

Our own compilation is licensed CC BY 4.0: credit Election Wrld. Source data keeps its own terms, listed on the data page, and you must follow them too. Don’t overload the site or the API, get around its limits, or present our data as an official result.

Accounts

You must be 13 or older to make an account. One account per person. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to your email safe.

Don’t pretend to be someone else, including a candidate, an officeholder, an election office or a news outlet. Don’t use bots or scripts to make accounts or lock maps. Don’t pick a username that is hateful or harassing. We can remove a username, a map or an account that breaks these rules, and we can close accounts or the leaderboard at any time. You can delete your account whenever you like from the Account page.

Your maps and username

Your picks are yours. When you lock a map, you let us show your username, that map, when you locked it and your score on the site, on share images and on the leaderboards, for as long as your account exists. Picks are each person’s own, not a forecast by Election Wrld.

Scores come only from certified results. The leaderboard has no prizes, and rank can’t be bought.

Reporting a problem

To report a username or a page that breaks these rules, email hello@electionwrld.com with the page address. We review every report.

Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and if a change affects accounts we’ll say so on the site before it takes effect. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms. See also the privacy page.
